Month: October 2016

New materials and time for Women’s Bible Study!

Starting November 6 the Women’s bible study will meet at the church on Sunday evenings from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m.

During November and December we will be using the Upper Room study guide.  These  free guides are found in the church foyer on the West wall.  Our discussion questions each week will be taken from the study guide that coordinate with Wednesday’s reading.  They can be found on the pages in the back of the study guide.  December 11 will be our last session of 2016.  All ladies are welcome!

2 Timothy 3:16-17

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Trick or Treat

One week from today, Monday, October 31, is Halloween. Scott County will be observing trick-or-treating from 6 to 8 p.m. Scottsburg United Methodist Church will join businesses and other organizations on the Scottsburg square to pass out candy to hundreds of children. You can help with this wonderful community event by donating candy or money for candy. Donations may be brought to the church anytime this week during office hours or on Sunday during church services.  Prayers for a safe and happy Halloween for all.

Psalm 37:4

Take delight in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.

To delight in the Lord, we must know Him better. Knowledge of God’s great love for us will indeed give us delight.
