On December 17, at 7:00 p.m. the Scottsburg United Methodist Church choir and friends will present the Christmas Cantata: “How Should a King Come,” written by Randy Vader, Jay Rouse, and Rose Aspinall, directed by Bill Henderson. Featured soloists will include: Meta Clark, Kathy Dodds, & Ashley Kruth. The song, “Draw Near Emmanuel,” will feature a trio including Malvina Craig, Kathy Dodds and Jessie Alexander. A quintet of: Connie Kenninger, Malvina Craig, Kathy Dodds, Bill Henderson and Curtis Turner will be singing “The Journey Begins Tonight.” Other songs included in this beautiful cantata are: “And the Glory,” “Gloria in Excelsis Deo!” “How Should a King Come?” “Joy to the Word!” and “The Way He Came.”
This program is free to the public and will last approximately one hour. Light refreshments will be served in the fellowship hall immediately after the program.

On November 19 and November 26 at 10:45 a.m., Dorrel Harrison will be a guest of the Fellowship Class to give his presentation of Psalm 23. The first Sunday will be on the nature of sheep and the second will be on the nature of the Shepherd.
Everyone is invited to join us in Fellowship Hall to hear Dorrel. He always gives a very interesting and inspring presentation.
A collection of more than 200 wonderful recipes has been compiled to create a cookbook to comemorate the 40th anniversary of Scottsburg United Methodist Church. The cookbooks will be available for purchase Friday, November 3, at the Country Store, which will be open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the church. Many old recipes have been included from past church members. The cost of the cookbooks is $17. Plan to pick one up Friday when you visit the Country Store, then treat yourself to a delicious meal at the smorgasbord, 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. The recipe for the meatloaf served at the smorgasbord is also included in the cookbook.
